  • Do you struggle with knowing what to do next in your art business?
  • Do you worry about whether you’re offering the right thing at the right price?
  • Do you wish you could wave a magic wand and make being an entrepreneur fast and easy so you can paint all day?

MAGIC!

That’s exactly why I created…..just kidding!

There’s no magic wand.

(sorry)

(I’ve looked. And I know people who have looked even harder than I.
Nope, no magic wand.)

The only way to deal with all that business stuff is hard work and consistency.

The good news is you don’t have to stumble through it alone.
You could.
Many have, and many do.
But you don’t have to.

If you want guidance and community on this treacherous, but incredibly rewarding, path of entrepreneurship, the A+ Artists’ Alliance is for you.

A+ Artists’ Alliance

A+ is a group program for artists in the early-mid stage of their entrepreneurship journey. We focus on topics that will stabilize and grow your business. You’ll commit to the work you’ll do and be held accountable for it. And you’ll get plenty of support as you practice new skills.

You can expect:

  • Monthly topics and biweekly calls
  • Goal setting and planning
  • Time management, and practice
  • Community and accountability

You’re new to this whole entrepreneur thing.
And you’re not sure you’re even doing it right.

You often feel tangled and uncertain of what’s most important or what to do next.

Imagine if you had foundational guidance on setting up your business, and could learn with and from other people on the same path as you.

Imagine if you could identify your focus and actually work towards it!

Who am I?

Hi, I’m Alisa. I’m an artist like you but with a secret superpower! I wasn’t bitten by a radioactive spider, instead (less interestingly) I spent 2 decades in a corporate career that gave me skills in facilitation, organization, project management, and analysis. I weave those skills into my understanding of the artistic process and use them to support other artists on their biz journey.

Having run similar programs for over 2 years, I’ve seen fantastic results for both my participants and myself.

I created A+ because I genuinely want you to succeed, at a price that won’t cause you hardship. I believe humanity needs art, therefore artists need to make a living so they can continue creating art. If I can bring you further along on your journey to success, I’ll have done a service to humanity.

A+ Artists’ Alliance includes

  • Gentle structure and rhythm over 3 months: when you’re used to your time being unstructured it can be helpful to ease into it, with support
  • Foundational guidance on setting up your business:
    • Quarterly planning
    • Identifying and focusing on your main revenue activities: what’s currently working, how do you keep it going and allow it to grow
    • Support in choosing your focus: your focus will change over seasons and time, and for 3 months you’ll choose one thing
    • Guidance and practice on time blocking: we’ll talk the talk, and walk the walk (practice, not perfection)
  • Templates to help keep you on track and moving forward
  • Accountability: you commit to what you’ll do and you’ll be held accountable for finishing it, as will everyone else in the program
  • Biweekly calls, in the evenings of the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month
  • Coworking sessions to keep you focused on your most important work.
  • A space to share your current challenges and get input from Alisa and your peers: no matter your question, someone else has the same question or has experienced it before
  • Validation and reassurance from your cohort: we all struggle sometimes and it’s SO relieving to have other opinions
  • Community in your cohort: a group of peers traveling the same path as you, sharing the same struggles
  • A private community for the duration of the program: only for folx in A+

A+ Artists’ Alliance is not…

  • An art course
  • A place to develop your creative skills (you already have those)
  • A massive group of people where no one knows your name

A+ is…

  • A place for artists like you to get gentle guidance about your art business. You know how to do your art, otherwise you wouldn’t be thinking about business.
  • A safe space to practice new skills as an entrepreneur. If you haven’t learned this before, and even if you have, you need practice. Practice means you’ll make mistakes. Having guidance and community means you’ll recover more quickly and learn more from those mistakes.
  • A small, supportive community of creative folx on the same journey. You’ll know your cohort and they will know you. You’ll become familiar with each other’s businesses and challenges. These connections help you keep going when times get hard, as they do. If there is anything resembling a magic wand for business, it’s community.

FAQs

It is totally ok if you're not able to make one of the calls! Life is a whole thing.

Alisa's presentation on the topic will be available for you to review, and you can catch up in the community. You can also share your wins and challenges in the community at any time.

For privacy reasons, these calls will not be recorded.

I'm an artist myself and struggled alone for many years. Driven by my own need for community and accountability I started hosting quarterly groups with other artists. I designed the Google Sheet we used and I facilitated our calls. Those groups gave people, including myself, the support they needed to move forward with their creative projects.

I've experimented with expensive coaching programs and built community with folx who have done the same. There is a place for those types of programs, but something like A+ is missing from the offering. If you can't afford one of those high-end coaching programs, this is a much more affordable, much more accessible option. You'll get guidance and direction, and you'll get community.

If you have any other questions, please send me a note at [email protected]!

I've facilitated groups like these for more than two years and the participants of those groups gained much value. You don't have to take my word for it, here are their words!

"Just knowing that I have support, or even a group of people to soundboard with, is incredible. Over our time together, I discovered a lot more about myself through our discussions and my own reflection. I have learned more about boundaries, such as how to not overload and overwhelm myself. I received the hand-holding I needed, in a healthy way."
- Lisa S., Artist

"I enjoyed the structure, ritual, and community PACT provided: speaking regularly with fellow creatives. It’s good to share ideas and resources for similar issues facing creatives and small business people. I enjoyed feeling like I had colleagues, since I am used to working on my own!"
- Ele W., Printmaker

"I love this group. Being part of it helps me focus my thoughts about projects and progress. I love the support and openness of my group, and especially having a safe place to be vulnerable with people I know are in my corner."
- Bethan B. , Artist, Educator, Podcast Host

A good ol' fashioned shared Google Sheet!

You can work on it digitally, and you can download it if you prefer analog.

A+ is for artists and artisans, usually in the early or mid stages of their entrepreneurship journey. They could be painters, sculptors, illustrators, potters, textile artists, photographers, jewelry makers, and more!

I strongly encourage you to commit for at least 3 months. This is the time it takes to make an impact on your work and your habits.

The program itself will run indefinitely, and you're welcome to stick around for as long as it makes sense for you.

Holding our calls biweekly instead of weekly gives us a few advantages:

  • a less frequent time commitment for you (as mentioned, life is a whole thing) while still getting impact and value
  • we can take 90min instead of 60min, getting more value from each call
  • you get 2 weeks to practice each topic before reporting back
  • slow and sustainable usually wins over frequent and intense

The calls will happen on the 2nd and 4th week of the month.

To start off, they will be held on Thursday evenings from 6:30-8pm ET. When the group gets started, this day/time may shift to accommodate the needs of the group.

Fantastic! I'm all for community participation and contribution!

I'm sure it comes as no surprise that I deliberated long and hard over what to charge for this program.

I had a few goals in mind: the cost had to be accessible to most folx, it had to be substantial enough to ensure you committed to the program, and it had to reflect the value of the program.

After a fair amount of waffling, I landed on $224/month. That works out to less than $700 for the recommended 3-month commitment. This is quite a bit lower than other coaching programs, while still representing a meaningful commitment to your business. There are scheduled topics, templates for you to work in, and each call is facilitated toward a specific outcome. You will not be a faceless number in an online course of hundreds or thousands of people. You'll have the opportunity to interact, be heard, and receive individual attention.

A Founder's Launch is an opportunity to make a low, one-time payment for indefinite access to a new program. This is win-win for both the participant (you!) and the program. The participant gets full access to the program for as long as it runs, and the new program gets an early boost of revenue to invest in systems and processes to make it better and easier to use!

Alisa is offering a founder's launch opportunity of a one-time payment of $600. For less than the cost of 3 months, you can have indefinite access to A+. If you're interested in this option, please send an email to [email protected]
