Find regular events for artists to connect with creative community. These are designed to provide accessible value to those who need it. You can expect interviews with creatives, workshops on relevant subjects, and Creative Connection calls to meet other creatives on this journey.

    • A live journal of the day in the life of a creative small business owner. This format is a cross between blogging (long and short form writing) and social media (comments and exchanges). I’ll be writing about my work and life (they happen at the same time) and sharing insights in near-real time.

  • The Full month of February – Courage In Practice
    • Registration closed
      • Over the month of February, you’ll practice taking small, achievable actions towards your ScaryThing. This practice builds your courage slowly and steadily. You’ll be working in a framework shared with other participants to measure and reflect on your progress. And you’ll be guided and supported by Lauren and Alisa all the way through.
        There will be weekly group calls (over Zoom) with both Alisa and Lauren providing coaching and support. And there will be resources and homework to keep you moving.
        You’ll also have access to a private Courage channel in the CCC for questions, wins, and wobble moments.
  • Mon Sep 8 – Fri Sep 12 – The Back To School Summit
    • Designers, creatives, and entrepreneurs spill the tea on their business and creative secrets from book illustration to nervous system regulation. A full week of panels, presentations, and workshops! All recordings available to members of the Creative Connection Collective (CCC).     • Alisa interviews Doris Wai, artist, author, hand letter, and engraver, about the highs and lows of her 10 years in business. Doris dishes out advice based on lessons she’s learned while running Love Lettering!
  • Thur Jan 30, 2025 – Showing up on Camera: Doing It Scared
    • Alisa and Margot Daley, an in-demand brand photographer based in Toronto, have a conversation about showing up on camera! We cover why people, especially artists and creatives, hesitate to show up; and do we even need to show up on video??? Margot shares some tips on learning how to show up even when you’re scared, and what we, as small business owners, have to gain by showing up on video.
  • Mon Jan 20, 2025 – 100 Rejections Challenge (exclusive to The Creative Connection Collective)
    • Alisa kicks off for the 3 month-long 100 Rejections Challenge! Participants are challenged to collect 100 rejections to practice sending outreach, following up, and collecting NOs.
  • Wed Jan 15, 2025 – Chart Your Course: 2025 Planning Workshop for Creative Business Owners
